cut it out and have a shop put a universal one on. Or don't run one at all...

You have two cats.... which one is it - driver's side or passenger side?

Shoebox has a lot of part #'s including the latest replacement numbers for the MAF sensor:

If its a necessity then buy an aftermarket one. Pretty much anything with acdelco d.Delphi or gm is go ns be ridiculously expensive

Unless you're handy with a welder you're going to need to visit a muffler shop. They're be able to provide you choices. I've got a Carsound Cat on mine but the part number is likely different for yours as mine is a single cat setup.

I've still got my stock dual cat w/y pipe from when I installed my Kooks and catted Y pipe. They only have 11,000 miles and are from my '96 Z28. Let me know if you want to keep OEM cats on it.

Please do not offer to sell or buy parts in the "tech" forums. If you want to help someone out with parts, send them a PM.

CA has new cat laws: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...ftermktcat.htm

CA now requires certified cats or you will technically not pass the smog test (if they look and see a non-stock or non-certified cat, or a relocated cat, you are screwed). To make matters worse, I could not find a junk yard in CA which was even willing to sell me used cats due to the new law.

Your choices to be 100% legal are new certified cats (Walker was the cheapest I saw but do not know of their durability) or used GM on a forum or ebay. I found a guy in MI on ebay who had a dual cat setup he sold me (I have a 95 M6 which is single cat and went to duals so I could use a set of SLP shorties, and even though I will now run cleaner, my car is now illegal.)

What size are the stock cars? 2.25in to 2.5out?

Re: bad cat now what?

That's what I measured pipe OD on the pass side dual cat that I have, not sure what year my exhaust is but it is OBDII as it had post cat O2 sensors. I would double check for with Walker over the phone as their page has the 81908 as both sides which we know is wrong. http://www.walkerexhaust.com/catalog/ecatalog_CARB.asp Don't you love all the BS we go through here in CA while everybody else does full headers and true duals.

Would this work? An exhaust shop quoted me $230 for install but can get this same cat for $94 and I'm reading applications say its for dodge on summit but they sell these cats universal on magnaflows site

Re: bad cat now what?

I think Imma spend the extra and get that walker 81908... seems like a direct replacement on our cars... and 2.5 in and out can be welded fine I believe. The other cats I found were 16-17in in length and these walkers seem like legit options to replace stock cats... yea??
