Arizona Speed and Marine Throttle Body????

I'm ordering a throttle body. Was gonna go with the BBK 52 mm for bout $300. Give or take some, But i came across the

ARIZONA SPEED AND MARINE 54mm for $467 at combination motorsports. has any one Ran this throttle body. It FLOWS 900CFM. Would it be a wiser choice to stray away from the BBK and just order thyis thursday and stic withe the BBK.

Whats ur all opinion????

I haven't heard alot about throttle body's

Re: Arizona Speed and Marine Throttle Body????

it seems to be the general consensus that AS&M throttle bodies are some of if not the best quality TB's on the market for the LT1

opinions vary tho and the price is a bit much for most
try searching you will see alot of threads about them, Holley and BBK base your opinion on that

Re: Arizona Speed and Marine Throttle Body????

As far as machining quality goes, yes, I agree. However, the AS&M TBs were designed (in their present design) B4 the LTx series of engines became available from GM, so they (TBs) were not designed for that series of engine, or to be campatible with their PCMs. This explains the idle quality issues with AS&M TBs.

An AS&M representative has stated they (AS&M) have no intent on updating their design. As long as their customers are willing to purchase TBs not intended/designed for their LTx engines, do not expect AS&M to reengineer their product anytime soon.

Re: Arizona Speed and Marine Throttle Body????

I have a AS&M 54mm throttle body on my car and I do not have any problems with idle quality. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the very same throttle body again. I would change just about everything else on my car but not the throttle body.

You haven't used the search button very much then

Holley, BBK, AS&M, search on each, you'll find people pleased and displeased with all of them. I went with the AS&M 58mm, beautiful piece!
