Anyone With Jet Hot Lt's Get In Here

JUST WONDERING. I INSTALLED JET HOT LT'S ON MY CAMARO LT1. FOR SOME REASON THERES ALOT OF WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADERS. NO SMOKE COMING FROMT PIPES AT ALL. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THESE HEADERS HAVE A LOT OF STUFF ON THEM THAT THEY NEED TO BURN OFF FOR A WHILE. CUASE IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE A BLOWN HEADGASKET AGAIN. I JUST PUT IN A NEW MOTOR WITH THESE HEADERS. MY TEMP IS FINE NO PROBLEMS
AND ITS MAKING OIL PRESSURE. IF YOU HAVE JET HOT LTS WITH THESE SAME PROBLEMS PLEASE REPLY THANKS

UMMMMM I CANT EXPLAIN I ITS JUST ONE SIDE TOO. THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE THESER PLUG HEATER WRAPS FROM THE MY OLD SET UP THAT I PUT ON THERE. ONE OF THEM I DROPPED IN TRANNY FLUID ON ACCENDENT I WONDER IF THASS WERE THE SMOKE IS COMING FORM. ITS JUST SITTING ON THE HEADER. ONE OF THEM ARE. I TALK TO A BUDDY OF MINE AND HE SAID HIS BUDDIES LT'S TOOK A WEEK TO BURN OFF CAUSE THEY WERE SMOKING. THE SMOKING SEEMS LIKE ITS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE.

HEY, STOP YELLING. HAHAHAHA your hurting my eye's. anyways, my jet hots didnt smoke at all. maybe about 25min.s idle time, and about 5 mi. on them so far. never did smoke. when i fired it up for the first time, there was jus a puff in the eng. bay, but I figured that was from my fingerprints on them, not the act. coating itself. but that was it.

if you have header wrap that was dropped in tranny fluid, it will hella smoke. is the smoke out he tailpipe, or up in the eng. comp.? if out the tail pipe, then obviously has nothing to do with the header wrap. if up in the eng. bay, then cant be a head gasket.

Well what I met to say as far as header wrap. I meant to say that I have plug wraps around the plugs to keep them from getting heat from the headers. One of those wraps I dropped in Tranny fluid. BUt non the less. It still means that I could be getting Tranny fluid on the Headers. from one of those plug wraps. Again there is no white smoke coming from PIPES. all from the engine BAY. Good compression. Now im also scared of the possiblity of water in the clylinder. Whass the probality of that? Thanks

yeah, if its smoking in the bay, then it in nothing thats goin on inside the eng. or inside the headers. onlly whats on the outside. did you try to remove that wrap that you got tranny fluid on to see if the smoking goes away? also, if you got greasy/oily fingerprints on the headers while installing them, that will smoke too. but not for that long. maybe only like a few min.s.

Every time you install headers there will be smoke that is grease from your hands burning off. If you drop ATF or any other kind of oil on the header, it will sit there and cook and won't go away so fast.

I Found the smoke problem. MY number 6 plug wire wrap is burning like theres no tomorrow. Thass what the smoke was all of a long. I fixed the fan problem. Fuse went out. But those plug wraps are smoking big time. With JEt HOT LT"S its almost a MUST to get the OVER THE VALVE COVER plug wire set up. JEt HOTs are HOT when running. I LOVE the JET HOTs so far. First time I FIRED up my BBK headers. They turned COLOR Fast. These have NOT turned at all. PRETTY NICE.
