Angry anyone had luck.......

getting your exhaust manifold studs loose? If you havent read, i ran over something and it crushed my ypipe and i am trying to get it back together and the holes in the flanges wont line up so i got some new studs and cant get the old ones out. i have tried to find access to a torch so i can heat them up but so far nothing and i have gone through a can of penetration oil on 6 studs. anyone have any suggestions? help me please, i am stuck driving my girlfriends old KIA!!!! and now it is having major problems, go figure.

I used a Craftsman impact wrench (the kind you hit with a hammer, not pneumatic) and LOTS of P.B. Blaster, and mine came out pretty easy at 112,000 miles. I did break one stud out of six, but the rest came off with only a few hits. If you have not tried an impact wrench (with a long extension), you should.... it worked well for me.

i tried an impact wrench on one and the socket just turned on the stud. someone stole my hammer impact wrench, i guess i could go pick one up somewhere, the only thing is I rarely use it and dont have alot of money right now to be buying parts much less more tools. any other suggestions and thanks for those already given.

Get a small propane torch.$15-20 bucks.heat the nuts up good and use a six point socket with a breaker bar.Should do the trick.

took it to a buddys muffler shop and let them deal with it. it took almost 2 hours to get the stud out. ended up drilling it and retapping the hole. the ipipe was bent to so it had to be heated and bent back. now i have a little oil in the water, hoping this is from when the oil cooler was hit and was in the block and is just coming to the top. now, does anyone know anything about KIA'S?

yeah it was a big decision but i may not keep the car much longer so decided to just replace the ypipe. its got about 140000on it now so if i do keep it there will be a motor builtsometime this year and with it being lowered i dont plan on long tubes so i will just get a set of mac's to bolt up to it. good call though you got me. i was waiting for someone to call me on it.
