Anybody exempt drom emissions in the chicago area?
You cannot be exempt unless you are not driving it on the street. There is a showcar/race car form that you can get. But your car has to be over 10 years of age and drive less than 200 miles a year. You must also show proof of show car insurance to the Emissions station. If you go for the race car section you cannot have insurance and cannot legally drive on the street. What I did was go with no cats my first time so that it failed really bad. Then i went with a cat. This is done to show improvement. Then I went with a cat and running alcohol so it showed even more improvement and I almost passed. After you fail three times find someone you know who can make up some B.S. reciepts for emissions related repairs and go back and tell them you need a waiver because your car failed three times and you have spent over 400 dollars in emission related repairs. they will inspect the car and you will be good. The guys who do the inspections are stupid. I didn't have an egr or air pump. I just pointed to the back for the egr and then pointed to the A/C for the air pump its actually kiinda funny. Hard not to laugh. But really easy to B.S them

It says "the insurance policy must clearly indicate that the vehicle's use is restricted to going to and from events" Interesting, there's a cruise night / car show just about every night Spring - Fall if you know where to look.
Nowhere in the Qualifications Page does it state anything about 10 years or older, nor does it state a miles driven limit. Might be in the vehicle code though.
