any disadvantage to too many crack amps?

I just bought a new battery with 1000 cold crank amps. Its a beef cake....:D I swear the car runs better and obviously turns over at start up like a mofo.... Are there any problems that I'm gonna have running such a hefty battery? I've already had to move some stuff and jam it in just to make it fit ;) But everything seems fine. What do you all think?

I have never heard of too many CCA's hurting anything, but I haven't heard it all yet.;)

Crack amp???? ;)

Dave Feerst 08-15-2003 11:26 AM

um, takes up more space in the engine compartment???
thats about it.
the started wil only draw the current it needs.
During the summer, you could probibly get by with 300 CCA.
its when it is cold in the winter with our motors that you need 500 or more.

cca's dont' hurt anything, the only thing that could do damage is if you used a 16 volt batt. or something.

scoobysnax83 08-15-2003 05:15 PM

yeah its a 12 volt. 1000 cca and 875 regular. It amazing how quickly it turns over now with the extra power. Just to let everyone know that has trouble putting theres in. Just bend the hood support just a little tiny bit and break off the outside edge of the battery tray and she'll fit right in. Really snug, but it'll fit. :)

trunk

you could also toss that baby in the trunk and not have to worry about fitment issues. and i bet its heavier than stock so thatd be even better back there. also, whered you get that thing? Id like to know for future reference cuz i have had too many problems with high compression motors and hot starts and crappy batteries and autozone starters. that electrical system is the number 1 place not to skimp if you want your car to actually start everyday. but if thats not important to you, go ahead, skimp away :D sorry for the rant, it sounds like a great battery!

Makes sense, I guess. A battery on crack puts out 1000 amps.

Words from the wise.... Take notes gentlemen :o

**Breaking News**
The scoobster gets busted for buying crack from an undercova brotha. When asked why, he states, "Officer it was for my car!" Instead of jail he is sent to the insane asylum. Get the full story, only on FOX... Next at 10.

Thats a good idea, relocate for weight distribution. Plus it'll be closer when I throw an amp back there. I actually got it for 79.99 from Walmart. its ths MAXX-1N. I've bought a lot of batteries from Walmart with nothing but positive results. It also comes with a 3 year free replacement and 8 year prorated replacement. Its even stylish. Yellow accents with black. I mean for the price and the way it starts my car hot. I can't complain at all :)
