Question another EGR question

What difference is there in power and driving if I delete the EGR in the PCM versus replacing the thing and letting it stay running?

The reason I ask is right now with it malfunctioning it runs like butt. Don't want to leave anything on the table if it makes a diff.

that is what I am going to try, but I figure with the new long tubes this may be an ongoing thing and need a long term fix. The headers weren't on a month when the code popped up.
