alternator question

The plastic spin part of my alternator is rubbing on the alternator body. Makes a terrible screech. Why is this happening? Is the alternator bad or did my buddy take the alternator off and put it back on wrong? Its not the belt slipping i checked. The last mod I did was wired the fans to a switch in the cabin. Would he have removed the alternator for that? That was a few weeks ago also and this just started.

Thanks for the help.

I think he's talking about the Pulley. Maybe its on backwards I don't think it would even fit that way though. I don't know why your friend would have taken it off. Or check to make sure that he didn't take the alternator apart and forgot to put the bolts that keep it together on. That would cause it to squeel ... uhh I know that one from experiance..lol.
