Unhappy Alternator

Would an alternator still charge ok if the bearings were worn/wearing out? I heard a noise coming home today and it sound like it's the alternator rattling. I don't see any sort of voltage drop as of now.

Bad bearings don't give a lot of warning before seizing up. You might try disconnecting the accessory belt and turn the alternator pull be hand to isolate the problem.

+1. If you have any doubts, just get a new one from Autozone, not too pricey with a core turn in.
