All the hoses for cooling
All the hoses for cooling
I have been having a bit of trouble keeping the z cool in traffic and here in Southern California there is alot of traffic. What I wnted to know is what are all the different hose sizes and lengths needed to replace themall. The car has 60000 mi and I wanted toi change them all when I have the rad flushed and rodded. The previous owner did not care for the cooling system as well as they should have. If anyone knows all the sizes and lengths I would really appreciate the info. Its a 96 z28 a4 convertible if those factors make a difference.
Also If I completelyu drain the cooling system can I refill it with the orange coolant? And then I was going to run some watter wetter also.
Thanks
Ed

Most of the hoses are the molded/fitted type and the heater hoses are a combination of metal and rubber (and a pain to change out). You should just get the specific hoses for you car.
I would think that your 1996 would have come with DexCool (orange stuff). Usually, there is a sticker near the reservoir that states this. You can change to whatever type of coolant you want after a complete flush (including block).

Do a search in LT1 tech for Goodyear hi miler I posted some info about these hoses recently..
It's a good set [though it IS missing one hose, which can be made up for with a reg 3/4 heater hose section] as it includes 10 of the 11 hoses on the car[95-7]
Dremel off the crimped clamps on the stock hoses [difficult but possible!]and use regular hose clamps on the new ones..
I did my 94 a while back[ changed it to 95-7 configuration] and like the hoses..
