air intake sensor
are you reffering to the mass air flow sensor? if so its the big sensor between the rubber elbow and air box.
It senses how much air is being sucked in and tells the fuel injectors how much fuel to dump in

There are several "air intake sensors" You have the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) on top of the manifold. You have the MAF (mass air flow) between the filter box and elbow, and IAT( intake air temp) Mounted on the elbow.
