On your 96 it will throw multiple codes... no EGR solenoid, no EGR flow, AIR flow to left and right sides of the exhaust not detected. They can all be removed from the PCM with programming.

If its all properly blocked/capped off there should be no effects beside the SES light being on, which can be tunned out as mentioned above.

I don't know what your current mods are, you should include them in your sig. No, you will not notice any gains from the air/egr delete alone. You may or may not notice something form better A/F ratios, fuel trims, etc. If your car is otherwise stock, I wouldn't expect much.

i have k&n cold air intake, borla cat back, skip shift eliminator, short throw 6 speed and thats about it .....but i know if i get race style headers i am going to throw codes and then to get it tuned its gonna cost about $200, but tuning it will it do anything or am i paying $200 just to delete the codes? cause if i am just paying $200 just to delete the codes then i will just got with longtube headers with the egr/air hookups u know, cause if thats all i will be paying for is a tune to delete the codes then i am getting headers with the hookups !!! u get my drift

talk to some of the tuners or look into getting the software and cable to do it yourself. i think i saw one of the tuners offering a package that was cheaper for tire size changes, fans and probably the emissions stuff vs. paying for a full tune since all they have to do is hook up the computer and change 1 or 2 single settings and not an entire table.

If you got the headers, you would see something out of a tune with an intake, headers, and exhaust.

U talkin about the block off plates? I already have them I'm just stuck in a position trying to figure out what I'm going to do, delete egr/air or keep them? Why pay for a tune if all it does is delete codes and make u light go off ya know, might as well save 200 and het headers with the egr/air hookups!! Anyone agree

Blockoff plates can be found for 15-20 bucks. Some people even make their own and fabricate their own gaskets.
