Advice For Mods Needed

Hello to All! I was signed up to this board a long time ago and now I am back and looking for some help! I have a 95 Z28 A4 and I was seriously thinking about putting a Ram Air SS style hood on my car. Aside from finding a nice fitting hood (Is the SLP hood a nice hood, nice fit??) I wanted to make the hood functional. If I can find an original ram air breather set-up from a 96 SS will I be able to hook everything up okay and will it work? Will the computer recognize the extra air and will it be benificial or I am wasting my money in getting the ram air to work. Am I really just buying the hood for looks? I guess what I am after is do I need to adjust the computer for more intake flow or will it work by just hooking everything up? if you guys can lend me any advice it would be greatly appriecated. One more thing if there is any other canadian camaro owners with a 93-97 do you know of any companies this side of the border who sells a nice aftermarket Ram Air Hood. thanks in advance Darryl

You're doing it for looks. Some folks have measured more power for a cold air intake... Either way though, no computer adjustment is necessary, just install and go!

If you can find that set up off a 96 SS then you should be set. The computer is VERY samrt and well work with the new air flow. The hood should look great, SLP is a good brand, just stay away from Suncoast.

Thanks for the response. Well I do love the look of the ram air SS cars but really want it for extra power. Looks like it will work okay if I can find a breather set-up anyone have one for sale out there? thanks again Darryl
