AC Delco Oil Filter?

I just put an AD Delco filter on my car, if was PF454 I think, but I took off a fram, which I normally get, and the AD was considerably smaller in size. Is this the right filter? I got the one it told me in the book, but it just doesn't look right. It barely sealed on the car...

yup, I run the pf454 on my stroker LT1, its the right one. It sure is short, but it is fat enough and you shouldn't have any problems with it!

And, it's better than the Fram.

Cut it open, take a look inside, and measure the media. When the AC Delco is done, do the same thing.

Re: AC Delco Oil Filter?

PF454 is the correct filter. If you want an AC Delco filter that is a bit longer like the old PF25 model, the new filter is the PF1218. The 1218 is the filter I have been using with no problems.

hmm, I work for GM and I was unaware of the 1218 fitting! I heard somewhere that it didn't work, but if you are using it with no problems, then I just may start! Nothing wrong with a little more filtering area!!

Re: AC Delco Oil Filter?

yeah, fram isn't all that great. If ac delco is good enough for a 3600 mile warrenty, then its good enough for my stroker!

Re: AC Delco Oil Filter?

Thanks guys, I was just a little worried because it looks like it barely seals off where it hits with the car.

I just might try out the 1218 next time though. The fram just looked like it fit a little better.
