I just got done installing hooker lt's and now my abs inop light comes on. Has anyone else had this problem after a header install or does anyone know what it could be?Thanks

Is there anyway to tell if your abs realy isn't working. Can they still be work when the abs inop light is on.

the light being on doesn't always mean that they are not working. actually it is quite common for the abs light to come on sometimes and then go away with nothing ever happening. there must be a glitch in the system or something.

Follow the ABS sensor wire from the rearend up to the engine and make sure that it didn't come to close to the headers at some point. A few other things to check would be the fuse of the ABS sensors on the rearend as they commonly come out.

What usually happens to cause this right after a header install is plug wires re-routed too close to an ABS harness. The electromagnetic field will disrupt the ABS signals. Make sure you have some space between them.
