Doesn't it come with a V8 to.

Engine is 285 Horsepower and 325 Ft Lbs of Torque Torque is very flat from 2000 RPM up to about 4700 RPM where it it starts to drop until the 5700 rpm redline. HP maxes out around 5000 rpm I believe.

It has the interior and rear taillights of the newer '98+ Camaro's

They also have 5-spoke rims instead of the "salad shooter" style rims. You can see pictures of one in my signature. The only thing not stock in the pictures are the aftermarket exhaust tips.

Three different engines were available for 97.

A 3.8L 200Hp V6
A 5.7L 285Hp V8 Z28
A 5.7L 305Hp V8 SS

All Trans Ams, Z28, SS, Formula Firebirds and Firehawks were LT1 350 V8s from 93-97 and from 98-02 they changed to an LS1 350 V8.

When it was "Brand New" in 97 it cost about 20,000.00 for a coupe and 25,000.00 for a vert.

Which comes with V6 because i don't want to get that one and want to be specific when i tell my friend's brother what to look for.

O.k. Here's the deal.

There were two engines, the V8, which is the LT1; and there was also the V6 which was the 3.8 liter engine, which is also called the 3800.

There are basically 5 types of bodies for the '97 model year. They all came with both the V8 and the V6 except for the SS and the RS. The SS model only came with the V8, and the RS only came with the V6. For the hardtop coupe, the T-top coupe and the convertable, the Z28 has the V8 and the regular camaro is the V6.

There was the coupe hardtop, the coupe T-top, the convertable ('vert), the RS, and the SS.

The coupe and the T-top are basically the same, except the coupe hardtop has a sheet metal roof, and the T-top has the removable glass tops like in my pictures below.

The convertable has the drop top of coarse.

The SS was a special model that came with the hood with the ram air built in. It also has a slightly larger rear spoiler. It also has upgraded exhaust and intake and suspension and other goodies versus the standard LT1 engine.

The RS has extra body skirting on the bottom but only came in the V6.

If I were you, I would look for a Z28 hardtop coupe or a Z28 T-top coupe. If you can find a SS, that would be my first choice, but they will be more expensive.

Well I know I want to get the 97 Z28 and hardtop, but I would like to know how much they would cost new on average right now like if I were to get it within the next month.

So when I tell my friends brother to look for a 97 Z28 hardtop I would need to be specific on V8 since it comes with both and I want a V8?

The top doesn't go down on the coupe. It's the normal looking Camaro, either in hardtop or T-tops.

You know what a convertable is right? That is the vert. Get it, convertable?

The Z28 always has V8.

There is the Camaro, and the Camaro Z28. The regular Camaro has the V6. The Camaro Z28 has the V8.

A coupe is a car that is not a convertable.

A coupe can be a hardtop - or a T-top.

Just not a convertable. (vert for short)

Dude, there's no such thing as a "new" Camaro since GM quit making them. All you're going to find now are used cars, unless you get extremely lucky and find one that's been on a dealer floor for the past 2 years.

Coupe... Fixed roof, it doesn't move

Convertable... Top folds back and you have an open air car

For a nice 97 Z or SS with low miles, expect to pay between 9 and 12k depending on exact miles and options.

I want to buy a brand new 69 Z-28 , how much do you think that would cost!:D
