96 T/A missing really bad

when i start the car there is a really bad miss, then when i drive it it miss off the line then pulls really hard to the top of rpms. And every time i down shift and punch it, it dies and then pulls hard so it's missing. And my check engine light is on and flashing. When i pulled the code it's random miss fire. Any help would be great i'm pissed off and don't know what to do!!!!

Another vote for plug and wires. Clean your MAF too.

the plugs are clean almost look brand new but the wires are bad i think they look old and are even taped together which could cause cross firing right.i think it's the wires because every now and then it runs fine and when i'm on the freeway forceing more sparks the car almost runs normal any other opinions.

go out tonite when its dark outside and start your car, open the hood and check to see if you can see any sparks coming from the engine bay. Could be a wire got sliced or corroded open, that can cause it right there. Same thing happened to mine. Like the other guy said, start with the basics first.
