96 Loud ticking noise and overheat
Dont know much about engines but i would like to know why my 96 z28 needs in order to run smooth, everything is stock. Tranny, engine, everything. I would like to know if i need to rebuild the engine completley. My camaro turns on and is drivable but overheats fast and makes a loud ticking noise, the more i step on the gas the faster it starts to tick. I was thinking of doing a ls1 swap but i dont know wut the price would be. Im not sure weather to fix my stock engine and throw in some performance parts on it or just do a ls1 swap. Wut do you guys think? What would be the smart thing to do? Any info would be appreciated thanks in advance, :)

The ticking you mentioned where do you hear it from? The ticking can be a number of things. And IMHO about the ls1,it's better to just buy an ls1 rather than swap motors bcuz you will need to swap a butch of things and it's not worth it. |

The smart thing to do is take the car in and have it checked out.Ticking can be an exhaust leak.Overheating can be a waterpump.Have it diagnosed before you spend the dough.My02.
