95z exhaust

really close to buying a 95z. the first thing i'm doing is the exhaust, everything from the manifolds back. what i'm wondering is can someone recommend a y-pipe,cat, and i suppose any catback would work. i've put on mufflers but haven't got into nothing like this. am i going to be able to do it in the driveway? i'm just looking for a combo that wont be a pain to get to work together. thanks

I wouldn't get just any catback. I'd go with a Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow, (There's one more thats supposed to just kick *** but for some reason I can't remember it, someone on here will) get long tubes, as for the y pipe, I'm gonna let someone with LT's actually comment on that, cats you might wanna check catco, or someplace like Borla or Magnaflow for those as well. I'd also do a CAI to get a little more air into that motor.

95z exhaust

the cat back i was thinking of flowmaster. unless i crack the lottery i probably wont be touching a corsa or borla. as far as headers i heard they weren't worth the hassle and i would probably end up snapping one of the bolts off just removing the manifolds. i plan on the slp ultra z hood and some other stuff but the exhaust and sub fram connectors first. am i going to be able to do this in my driveway. thanks

You can do the exhaust in your driveway, but I don't know about the subframe connectors, maybe if you get the bolt-in ones. The magnaflow exhaust is awesome, and for under $400 you can't beat it.

Thinking about the GMMG chambered? www.gmmginc.net

For the price, it's better than Borla/Corsa and also slightly out-performs...it's $700 shipped....

For $300-$350 you can get a s/s Magnaflow 3" cat-back, which is what I'd advise for the money....

Flowmaster is bad-***, but they're aluminized and if you plan on keeping your ride for ahwile you'll start to see rusting...

That's why I advise s/s

I did Hooker LTs in my garage so it is possible to do it in your driveway but be prepared it is not an afternoon job. I had no problems with my manifold bolts, I sprayed em down with PB Blaster and let em sit overnite and they came out like butter.
Be prepared to relocate and extend wires and such, shorty headers may be different but anything thats close to header heat will need protected or relocated. I am slapping header mufflers on mine but I know I may need to change this in the near future.
Get coated headers with at least O2 sensor bungs welded in and emissions hookups if you have to pass emissions where you live.
If at all possible get a friend to help you out, I have no friends so I did it all myself sucks trying to hold a header up AND start the header bolts.
