95 z28 with a 93 engine! no spark or fuel, HELP!
Well, I had a 93 z28 and flipped it a couple times with no insurance So I really had no choice but to buy a frame and swap everything from my old camaro to the new one. I had put over 30 grand into my 93 so I wasnt going to waist everything so I found a 95 with a auto. Well I switched that cause I have a manual and threw in my engine. Now this has been almost 2 years now and just now trying to start her up and im not getting any spark or fuel. I was hoping that all would be compatable with the 93 harness but I dont know. Alright so I have the 95 interior harness in and the steering column from my 93 so I can use my old key and my old vats module. I have both ecm's wich are located right above my pedals but dont know which one will work. do i need the one from the 93 or from the 95???? also do I have to switch the interior harness or is it comnpatable. It is an auto but thought i can jump some wires and all will b good. should I just convert myu engine to a 95 and what will I have to do for that. I dont know where to start need lots of advise.... HELP PLEASE
Re: 95 z28 with a 93 engine! no spark or fuel, HELP!
if you used the whole engine harness from your 93 motor and put it in the 95 you will need to use the 93 ecm. i had an 89 iroc i switched from auto to M6 and by the shifter there was two wires i had to splice together to the clutch switch so it would start with the clutch pressed. cant remember the colors though.

You can use the 93 wiring harness and computer, but you'll have to switch a few wires ,especially on a 95, had it been a 94 you wer putting the 93 in you would have been better off (but that point is moot).
Anyway the best thing to do would be to use all the 95 with the 93 motor and tranny since its already in the car.Now if you dont have a 95 engine harness then I guess you have to use the 93 harness and ECM. All the ECM needs is a vats signal to start the fuel it doesnt care where it gets it from.
I would find a 95 wiring diagram and pinout for the c-100(plug under the hood by the original computer location 10 pin), the under dash plugs from the engine harness to the interior (under pass side kickpanel) c220, c230, and c210 plugs (shoebox has the pinouts http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm) and for a 93 and find out where the wires are different, move them to the right location (cut, move and solder).
it will take some time and research to do it right, but worth it.
