Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
The Hypertech inserts a "performance" program of their own design that is generally based on a stock engine (or one with a 160 degree thermostat). There is no customization of the program for other engine modifications, so it is generally considered a waste of time if you have engine mods. It does let you change fan temps and some shift parameters for an automatic, but is very limited, extremely low bang for the buck and sometimes a step backward in performance.
There are programs you can use with a laptop/PC and cable that are much better. Read up in the computer/diagnostics forum. |
Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
thxs shoebox i just did this
i replaced it with 8mm spark plug boot the stock one rubber was all cracked on it. the part that goes on the tb fir fine but the end that the line goes into feels lil loose. is this ok i took her out for a drive and seemed fine ? how can i tell if shes not running right. |
Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
You can easily test the integrity of the hose section with a vacuum tester or just use your lungs.

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
what do you mean ? what im saying is i replaced that evap line just like one in the video with sp boot the end that goes to tb fit good but end that the back line goes into feels lil loose is this ok ? how will i tell if somethings wrong.

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
its not ok to be loose. If its real close you can use a zip tie as a clamp to seal it up. Otherwise find another solution.

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
they dont make that part anymore why they say use sp boot the tb part fits good the other fits so so i can pull it off easy ? i can try the zip. if it a lil loose what will it do ?

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
Use RTV at the loose connection. Make sure the RTV is "sensor safe".

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
rtv do they sell it at local parts store ? also whats a good Serpentine Belt mine looks new but sequels soooooooooooooo bad.

Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
Put whatever laps of electrical or teflon tape needed on the EVAP solenoid port to snug it up. Removing the end at the TB and blowing into it should tell you if it is leaking. The ports should be closed from each other unless energized.
Goodyear Gatorback is a good belt. |
Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
I think the part that is loose is the way the plastic tube fits into the small (wire) end of the spark plug boot.
Yes, any auto parts store will stock various grade of RTV sealer. Ask for it. |
Re: 94z28 Hypertech Power Programmer III????
