94 Z28 Police Interceptor

Hey all,

I'm new to the board and to Z28s in general. I just purchased a Police Interceptor Package 1994 Z28. I autocross with several clubs and wanted a car that would be competetive in F Stock and ESP. The Z28 fits the bill. Those two classes are consistently won by Z28s. My first question for the board concerns what the Interceptor Package consists of. Does anyone know what the differences are between a general public built 94 Z28 and a PI version? Thanks.

The real police vehicles came with RPO B4C and were basically debadged Z28's. There is no real performance difference/advantage.

Thanks for the response. It didn't appear to be any different, other than no script on tail panel.

The police cars got a bigger alternator and heavier-duty shocks.

The only alternators I have ever seen are the 124 (1993) and 140 (1994-1997) amp ones that were standard. Perhaps a 1993 B4C got a 140 amp alt. Never seen any mention of anything larger in any documentation.

I've heard the same about the Alternators, but that was on 3rd gens. Not really sure about 4th gens.
