94 Trans Am Misfire

Hello any help would be appreciated,

I have a 94 trans am with a cold air intake and long tube headers. I burned a wire recently. The car was driving perfect before then. I was buying tires about a 40 min freeway drive from home. I drove the car back home and the next day changed the burned wire. The car had a misfire at idle. I took it for a spin around the block and it was driving fine but running extremely rich. I developed a stumble at low rpms so I changed the o2 Sensors. The stumble went away but the popping from the misfire continues. I changed the spark plugs and the symptoms still remain. Can anyone steer me in the possible direction for the fix. I do not own a code reader and cannot afford to buy one at the moment. Should I try resetting the PCM since I drove it so long with the burned wire? I'm afraid to test drive the car and burn up the o2 sensors again. The misfire also does not show up until the car is pretty well warmed up.

This software is free, and better than a code reader, courtesy of GaryDoug. Only problem is you have to buy or build a cable:. We can review the data log for you.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Done correctly, that can uncover a leaking injector, or a faulty fuel pressure regulator, which may have been causing the rich condition.

The PCM learns the long term fuel corrections (LTFT) fairly quickly. Should be sorted out by now. But you can reset the corrections to 0% by pulling the “PCM BAT” fuse (panel at end of dash) for 30 seconds. If you are going in the direction of using the scanning software, I wouldn’t reset, because it's important to see what we can learn from the current LTFTs.

Open the link I posted. Info on the cable is at the bottom of post #1.
