94 LT1 swapped into 70 camaro

I have scowered the net, and I know that this has not only been done before but it has also been discussed in detail. I have found several threads that start the dyi process, but none that see it all the way through completion. I am looking for the most detailed (with pics) dyi write up for this "procedure". I plan on putting the motor from my 94 into my 70, but I will be putting in a 6spd tranny. The 70 is already a manual car, so I'm hoping that it should make things a little easier. I AM going to do this and I need to have the most informative resources. All and all help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most of the work isn't that hard. I put a LT1 in my 69 but with a 4L60E. I haven't seen a complete write up from start to either. I would think the biggest hurdle for yours would be to hook up the clutch. Everything else is mostly bolt in. And if you go with a custom wiring harness that should make it easier as well.

Just throw the towel in,load it all up and drop it off at my house to get it out of your sight..And you can take home a much easier project.....Just jokin with ya.

Take a look at what Detroit Speed and Engineering has to offer. They have the K-member and all the suspension and mount things figured out and can help.

The 70 Camaro haso a mechaical linkage for the clutch which won't be much help with the T56's hydraulic setup. It can certainly be done..it just doesn't matter much that the 70 is a manual tranny.

The T56 is a huge transmission...you might just have to cut the tunnel to get it to fit. Again, no big deal, just an FYI.

I put a OBD1 with a 4l****tyE in a 92 2WD truck over the summer for a customer. I used this site for most all of it. It took a little time to interface the truck wiring with the Lt1 harness but the site had most all the info for the Lt1 side. Good luck and have fun
