94 LT1 engine problems
so i get up, the service engine soon light comes on, drive 20 miles, i am doing about 75 and it feels like the tranny slips out of gear (4 speed auto). rev the engine, nothing, then the check gauges light come on and the engine stops. i pull over, put it in park, turn the key off, turn it back on and it starts fine, but the service engine soon light is still on. drive about 10 more miles, turn the car off, let it sit for 15 minutes, turn it back on, then walla, no service engine light. WTF.
the opti sensor, wires, plugs, starter, water pump were replaced less than 5k.
i am smelling alittle bit of raw fuel, but no leaks.
i am clueless to this engine and a brand new owner of this 1994. i love the car, put it's really starting to tourqe me up.
any ideas would be awesome..thanks

not sure if any of these are really an issue...but these are the codes:
16,18,36,41,42,46,55
they also said something about codes for a lean condition codes, and wheel speed sensor code.

16= Distributor low resolution pulse
18= injector circuits
36= distributor high resolution pulse
41= ignition control open circuit
42= IC circuit shorted or grounded
46= Pass Key II circuit[VATS]
55= fuel lean monitor
I'd start with cleaning the VATS key pellet, then all ignition grounds, etc.. look for pinched/ loose/broken wire in the area of the opti, coil ,and Ignition Control module harnesses..
Then I'd say check opti..
I didn't get into it in any length but those things came to mind first..
Also clear the DTC's then see what comes up in a new scan..[some of those may be older codes]
thanks for the info..i am figuring that they are old codes seeing as how the opti was just replaced..the thing has been running like a champ all day, except this morning, it's really weird...maybe an exercisim will help...
