Question 93 lt1 with 65,000

i looking to buy a 93 t/a with an lt1. im an ls1 guy and dont know really to much about the lt1. all i know is that the opti-sparks can be a problem. behind the water pump and around the world to get to.
is their any thing that any one can think of that could go wrong at 65,000. i does an opti go at 65,000?

the car makes a funny turn over sound when it starts. its not a clean start it wamps. any thing on this.

whats this car wrorth? he wants to give it to me for 2600. exhust, slp air box, 17 inch gto rims. rebuilt 4l60. 65,000. i almost dont belive it has 65,000.

i need some help with this one. should i buy it?

GTO wheels are a mismatch on the correct bolt pattern by 0.65mm.

What's a "wamp"?

i agree with fatdog2, too many problems. I got mine M6 Lt1 Z on Ebay for $2000, drove it from NJ to Ohio, no issues.

As for the Opti, mine just went. i got a CMS replacement for $89.99 with a one yr warranty. i heard if you wanna find out if the Opti is going, hit 25, put it in low gear and WOT

154k miles and still going strong. I'd take it anywhere, if I wanted to.

Distributors should last atleast 120k miles, I know a few people who have 200k+ on factory optis. Mine was replaced ~120k miles when the water pump went out by the previous owner.

Fuel pumps should last ~120-180k miles.

I'd say the LT1 is just as reliable as any small block chevy with similar mileage.

EDIT by Moderator

Parts for sale must be listed in the correct Marketplace forum, not in the "tech" forums.

I have 235k on my stock opti, and got 225k on the stock fuel pump before it died, replaced it about a year ago.

Transmission went out around 180k losing 2nd and 4th gear.

I replaced the stock water pump around 210k. Replaced the FPR a couple times.

All in all I would consider LT1's a pretty solid engine. Maybe not a tank, but reliable none the less.
