92 Vette LT1 for Fbody build?
I'm looking for a 4-bolt main factory block for my 1995 Camaro build.
Could be 350/355 or end up 383, not decided yet.
Anyway I found a low mileage 92 Vette LT1 complete engine.
Knowing I cannot use the following parts;
accessory bracket (corvette specific)
waterpump (corvette specific)
optispark (different drive than '95)
timing cover (small hole for older optispark)
intake manifold (due to no fuel rail crossover)
What else can't I use?
Am I basically buying a longblock as far as compatibliltiy with the '95?
If I change heads (which I am either way) and bottom end I'm basically buying just the block correct?
Thanks

Re: 92 Vette LT1 for Fbody build?
Off the top of my head......
Not reused - Fuel rails, possibly passenger valve cover to clear F-Body alternator location, cam will not have correct hole in end (for 95-97 Opti pilot shaft) and cam sprocket hole will be too small because of teeth for 92-94 Opti drive, cam dowel pin too short, 1 of the 2 knock sensors (extra can be left in place as block drain plug), may actually be able to connect oil temp sensor to 95 PCM, tach filter, oil pressure switch
Things that may also be different - I just don't know - if the 92 Corvette engine has features similar to 93 F-Body - IAC (threaded vs. bolt in, different harness connector), which affects throttle body (which may have a TV cable connection), fuel injectors (22#/hr vs 24#/hr). I would pull the intake manifold with fuel rails and injectors intact, and swap. Not sure if the Corvette has the oil pressure sensor on the top/back of the block like your 95, or above the oil filter like 93-early 94 F-Body.
