60' Times

Post your best 60' time on street tires and tell me whether you did a burnout or not. Also, What kind of street tires?

Hello,

My best 60' on a Nitto 555 with a three to four second burn out was 1.907. I switched to a DR and managed 1.84 before changing my rear gear from a 2.73 to 3.73. Now I have not managed to hook yet with the 3.73 but am trying some new things tonight.

my best was last weekend with a buddies Hoosiers DR

60' was 1.915

The tire is kinda skinny if you ask me 9" or something like that.

O.K. Street tires 60's is what you are asking for... I cut a 1.81 & 1.81 - 1.90 consistantly on my BFG Comp TA's 275 45 17's... I would run them at about 20 PSI & no I really didn't do a burnout. I would give them a quick spin to clean them off a bit..

2.003 with 2.73 gears, kdw tires, and some stupid ass burnouts, did i mention no tire spin eaither, dead hook

With all my mods (except the Vigi 3200 and Race Trans) I was cutting 2.0 60 foot times all day long. I did this on a Dunlop 5000 sport street tire.my only suspension mods were Control Arms and Subframe connectors.

I cut some 2.0's with some bald Firestone Firehawks (stock). Dont know how, but they bit hard, and I did do a burnout. Actually two, I heated them up in the water box, then cleaned them off before pulling to the line. Can't hook up now w/out my et streets.:D

If by street tires, you mean anything DOT approved: 1.65 60' on 28x11.5x15 ET Streets.

If by street tires, you mean regular old street radials, no drag radials or street slicks: 1.99 on 275/60/15 BFG Radial T/A's.

WOOPS! Forgot to mention, I did a pretty decent burnout, tire pressure was at 25 PSI.

One thing about Water-box burnouts, MAKE SURE U LET OFF THE BRAKE SO THAT U CONTINUE TO BURNOUT - OUT - of THE WATER BOX.

I see too many newbs at the track that do a burnout, and stay in the water box, and drive out  Their tires are still wet and they end up with 60s of like 2.4.
