4500 RPM cut out at the track?
 

Hi All, I took my LT1, (bone stock 93' Vette) to the dragstrip (Bremerton,WA.) last Fri for the very first time. (I've never been down a drag strip before.)

on about my 5th run I missed 4th and lugged it down in 6th. Opps.

I've only had the car for a few months and it seemed like it had a computer rev limiter at about 5500 RPM.
After the lug run, next time down the track, it seemed like the rev limit moved down to 4500.

It completely fell off/cut out at about 4550 RPM.

The staging lanes were almost empty so I kept lining up every 7 minutes

did a few runs shifting at 4400, 15 sec +/-, 94=/- mph, then quit.

Shut the car off and loaded up my gear, no problem at all reving to 5000 + on the ride home.

I later thought maybe it was the opti, (Blame everything on the opti) but my friend said he never heard of an Opti doing that.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Would I have any codes if the SES light doesn't come on?

I had plugs doing that for me
