3rd set of O2's?!
I have a 93' Camaro with longtubes and true duals. I installed a set of heated O2 sensors (93s did not come with them) about 8-9 months ago. The first set lasted until this past Spring of 07. I replaced them with brand new Delcos and both of those crapped out on me and I just put a new set in today. Everytime they go out the car starts missing real bad at part throttle because it jumps in and out of closed and open loop. The new O2 sensors always fix it though. Any ideas on why the new sensors dont last very long?

I have no idea if it mattered but why did you use heated O2's if your car came with non? I know running real rich can foul them as well as the ceramic coating as it burns off. It could be a number of things but strange they go out as a pair. Did you confirm this with a scanner?

I would check the wiring harnesses to insure there is not some way that the +12V used for the heater circuits is not bleeding through to the 1V sensor element circuit. |
just an idea, they dont apear to be coated with anything like oil do they

Did you make the extension yourself? could very well be a poor connection problem.
Truthfully me personally i havent made the change to a heated O2 sensor on my maro it plain and simply does not go in open loop other then extended time on the highway. |
