383 stroker install questions

Hey guys,
I'm putting a 383 stroker motor and built tranny in my '95 formula either this weekend or next. I'm actually doing a swap out of my friends '96 Impala. I have a few questions, but let me just fill you in a little:

We're doing a complete motor AND transmission swap.
Here are the specs on the setup we're swapping into my car:

Motor Mods:
stock block with .020 over bore - 381ci Compression 11.1-11.5 (dont know for sure yet)
Eagle forged rotating assembly with Clevite bearings, SRP flat-top notched pistons
Melling high-volume oil pump
4-bolt main splayed caps on bottom end
LT1 aluminum heads ported/polished with 2.02/1.60 Manley valves with Comp springs/retainers, Comp Pro-Magnum 1.6 rockers with 3/8" studs and guide plates
Comp Cam 306 and Comp hydraulic roller lifters
Cloyes Double roller timing chain
Aeromotive FPR
Ported/polished LT1 intake manifold and Holley 58mm throttle body
SSRI intake w/Fbody MAF
Taylor 8.5mm wires, MSD coil and MSD Digital 6 Plus ignition box
high-torque starter from Summit w/new factory battery cable
Optima red-top battery
Programming by Brian Herter at PCMforLess (which won't really matter)
stock injectors w/aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.

Tranny Mods:
full race-built 4L60E with Trans-go pro kit by Mike Kurtz of PMAC in Houston and Vigilante 3200 stall

Here are my concerns:
1. we're going from OBD-II to OBD-I, as far as I know we just have to switch timing chain covers (and sensor in it), and swap knock sensors. Any other problems I might encounter?

2. This motor has < 1k miles, and has been sitting for a year. We have to start it to drive it up to my place for the swap. He didn't prep this thing before leaving it sit, so I'm sure we need to drain the fuel system, any other recommendations?

3. He said he had to mix race fuel w/pump gas to keep it from detonating, this should just be a tuning problem, correct?

4. I've already ordered JH LT's w/ Y-pipe, and I have a hooker cat back, my body man is going to custom make some sub-frame connectors, FSTB, and a drive line guard. I really don't have money for anything else, but are there any other mods I desparetly need? The current mods on my formula are: cat-back, poly trans mount, walbro 255 fuel pump, and factory performance shift trans and traction control. Also my car has 100k miles on it. The only thing I can think of is maybe some poly motor mounts, I can't imagine factory ones with 100k miles would last very long.

5. My local speed shop (Speed Demon Motorsports) wants $350 to tune it, does that sound reasonable?

nah, I have to swap timing covers b/c so my old motor will work with his OBD-II.

I'm going to Sam now, 3 semesters of Electrical Engineering at TAMU was enough for me. You go to car club? I assume you know Grant and all them. Scott Mazock is prolly gonna help me do the swap.

Yah, I think I'm gonna have Chris tune it. But $350, ouch!
