3 sets of wires and still arching
When it gets pitch black outside I can see my plug wires throwing streams of current all over the place. Ive had the wires replaced 3 times in the last week and today I had the MSD 8.5 wires installed and it wasnt as bad but its still doing it. If i move the wires around it gets worse while im moving them. It looks as if the current is travelling backwards, toward the coil packs. Anyone know what could cause this?

Is it actual arcing (sparks), or just a high voltage corona? Have you checked the spark plug gaps to insure they are not way too large?
When you mention "coil packs"...... why do you have more than one coil on your LT1? Did you do a Delteq or LTCC conversion? Might be a good idea to add a "signature", showing basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. |
Yes I had a deltq system put in last week. Sorry i left that out. New Taylor wires were put on at the same time and even though I had a misfire previously there wasnt any arching. After the delteq system and taylor wires were installed there was clear as day arching going on off of the header and it would made that click noise in conjunction with each spark and miss. I suspected the wires immediately and had another brand new set of taylor 8mm wires installed. No change. So I went and got MSD 8.5 superconductor wires and that solved the real bad arching off the header and the clicking as well. However i have several randomly located flashes flying off all the wires and when i move the wires around it starts flashing all over in static electricity on a sleeping bag type of way.

Delteq thinks on of the coil packs may be arching internally and I should have a new system showing up sometime today. Crossing my fingers but not getting my hopes up.
