3.73's Worth It????

Hey Guys I got a 95 Formula with an A4 and 3.23 gears. I bought 3.73s but was wondering if its even worth putting them in. I heard that in manty cases its not helping peoples ETs much if any. BUt I know they will make the car alot more fun to drive. but dont know if thats worth sacrificing the mileage (i do a bit of highway driving). And a big query I have is if you lose performance on the highway. It seems about 75% of my races happen on the highway. I need any and all opbservations from people whove done 3.73s in an auto car.
thanks!

Put the damn 3.73s in! I went from 3.23s to 3.73s and love it. As for ets, I can't help (never been to track ) but I have never heard of people lowering their et (unless they have traction issues). They make the car move like a bat outta hell at most normal speeds.

They will help.
But having expierence with this its not the first thing I would do.
Your going to have traction problems so be aware of that from the first, having said that, I love the 3.73s in my car.
I have the suspension mods to hook up with them now so......

3.73s are the BEST modification I've ever done.

i love my 3.73's but with my new setup (heads/cam) on street tires 1st gear and part of second 0-45 mph traction is non-existent on the highway.....but there lots of fun as compared to the 2.73's.....but im still on stock suspension

I love my 3.73's in most cases, not all though! For 1/4 mile and for street racing up to the speed limit it is so awsome. You get a good pant on the seat feeling, and you DO need programming with it as well, preferably at the same time to keep from hitting the rev limited and not adding extra miles with the speedo being off.

However, it does suck having 3.73's on the highway when you are driving 70 or above! Check out the calculator here to find out the rpm's you would be at on the highway http://www.f-body.org/gears/ .

As well, I did not lose gas mileage, even gained gas mileage! I did computer, gears, vigilante, and fuel filter all at the same time though and my gas mileage got better by like 25 miles for a full tank.
