#2 and #8 plug
How the heck are you supposed to get to plugs 2 and 8 without removing the alternator/ exhaust manifold or throwing and breaking all of your tool?
|
If you have bigger hands, remove the motor mount through bolt on that side and jack the motor up, you'll get an extra couple inches as the motor tilts

Remove engine. lol
I always take the alt off for #2, #8 was either a 1/2 drive 5/8's short well with a pair of plyers or a boxed end 5/8 |

Re: #2 and #8 plug
Well I took out the alternator and got plug 2!!! Plug 8 has been a nightmare. I just can't get it.
On another note, I got 8.5 mm MSD plug wires for $25, and they are in excellent condition!! I got them all in the driver side. It was cake. I used zipties. |
Re: #2 and #8 plug
Even with long tube headers, took me around 3 hours to do the passenger's side. I had to pull out the alternator, starter, AIR connections, and then my freak'n creeper lost a wheel and dumped me in the floor.:lol: I had to go to WalMart at 2am to get an el'cheapo creeper.
The driver's side took me all of 15 mins. Much easier than the passengers. The AC compressor is what made access so hard for me(that and the starter). |
Re: #2 and #8 plug
hahaha, that's actually really funny that the creeper broke! I've been doing the whole job without one.... :(
Anyways, I can't maneuver my arm between the exhaust pipe and starter, so I guess I will have to remove it. Could you possibly tell me how to remove it? |
Re: #2 and #8 plug
im 6"1' with huge hands i hade to pull the bolt out of the pass side motor mount and jack the motor up as far as it would go that gave me just enough room to sqeeze my hand in should be cake for you with small hands

Whenever I do plugs on the camaro I always found the best way to get at the #8 plug was removing the starter and getting at it from underneath.
I have long tubes and don't remember if this works with the stock exhaust manifolds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
