Looks identical to the stock unit minus the air silencer tube on the bottom.

The collar for the silencer is there, but the hole is covered and completely smooth on the inside.

25147210 93-94 non vented opti
25147187 95-97 vented opti
these are the part numbers for the 1LE intake bellows.
Whatever opti design you have you order the corresponding part #

Yes it is smooth inside instead of having the big hole.
You can order one from Jason Cromer.

Whats the difference between a vented opti and a non vented one? Which one do I have?

Anyone know why they made the stock one the way they did? What is the donkey d*** for?

You have a 97 so you have a vented opti.
GM put the silencer on it so you would not have to bear the sound of the engine sucking in air. God forbid.

About 45 bucks according to shoeboxs site.
I think I paid around 60 from the stealership.

Yes look up there at shoebox post.
You will see a spot at the bottom of his post that says Tech page.
Click this and it will open up a whole new era in your LT1 career.

I use his site all the time to get part numbers and help people with problems.
Shoebox makes me look much smarter than I really am.
