1994 Lt1

Ok guys this is gonna be tough. Well i have a 94 LT1 z28 Automatic trans. I have an exhuast and i have a cai and some other minor things. But now i want some serious hp gains. I think i am going to do gears next. I was looking for some big HP gains. I was thinking about porting the heads and cylinders....SHould i just buy new heads? And i wanted to port out the cylinders to a little bigger... Good idea or no? Eventually i am going to supercharge this car. But I want to rebuild the engine first. So i dont demolish it when i do that. I was thinking about when i rebuilid it to port it then and get the new pistons..pushrods...rockers and any other things? Well ineed some help if you can see so maybe we can talk on aol or something like that or just reply lol. This will give you guys some fun to try to make my car really fast =)

gears

gears are one of the best mods for your car, i didnt do min eyet but i have a pair of 3.73's at my house and am waiting for the hypertech to come in so i can have them installed. HOWEVER, from my knowledge of using a dyno on 2 past cars, gears do not gain you horsepower, they just give you quicker e.t.'s, but when your at a light and you punch it you definately notice a quicker launch. As for more power, ide go with nitrous until the motor is rebuilt, this is because the supercharger puts constant strain on the engine, unlike nos which will only be used occasionally, or when your showing off to friends. my 2 cents.

Is it just NOS that won't strain the engine, or will all nitrous brands be okay? :D

As for more power, how fast are you looking to go. How much money do you have? I'd say start off small with a good cam (cc306 on stock heads 12.7@115mph damn xxsain69xx) If thats still not fast enough for you, look into nitrous

What other bolt ons do you have?

Give us more info.

Also 94s already have hardened pushrods. :D

Well i dont have much. How much is a cam and for a stock engine what is a good one (also remeber i want to bore out my cylinders and port out my heads) so which would be the best for my case. Im going with 3.73 gears and some other stuff. I have a single slp 4 inch loudmouth exhuast cai and i moved the iat sensor. And my car is automatic. I would rather super charge then use nx. Thanks guys

You are correct. :D If anything, on the dyno, you might lose very little hp, but you will gain tq.

yea im not worried about showing people my dyno sheet im more worried about having a nice moving car you know what i mean/

i'm not tryin to be rude at all but i'm just warning you that many of the senior members on this site get aggrevated with the accessive use of "TTT". but as far as your mods, i dont think i would go with nitrous unless you know somebody who knows what they are doing. i've known people who put NO2 on their cars and have blown seals and messed up other stuff from incorrect installation. i'd like to get a hotcam for my car at some point in time also. how much do these run.....price and installation?

Sterlingsxe 01-30-2003 09:37 PM

cams run for liek 250 yea i kno i new i was pushing the ttt but so maany people read this and have no replied go figure
