zr1 wheels
zr1 wheels
hey all....im going to be getting some zr1 wheels...the question i have is ....should i go with 17x 9.5 on all 4 corners...or go w/ the 17x11 in the rear? what would be the pros and cons of this move?
You can run 315's all around. Some folks use a 36mm backspacing on a 17x11 ZR1 replica, or others (like me) went the 50mm backspacing route.
For the rears, you need to pound in parts of the inner fenderwell to account for suspension compression. You may need to roll your fender lips as well.
On the front, I had to grind down a bit of the spindle where the top of the wheel would touch it, as well as use 7/32" wheel spacers. I only use this setup for autox, not for daily driving. They didn't look as wide as I thought they would once mounted.
Lou Gigliotti's (sp?) son had 335's on the rear of his F-body car for awhile. You might be able to do the same in the front, but you wouldn't be able to turn the wheel lock-to-lock.
