Ok, I have no idea what is up with my rims. I have a 98 WS6. My drivers side has 2 shinny chrome rims on it. While my passanger side has 2 dull(chrome?) rims on it. There is a night and day difference between the two. I clean them up. I have used many different cleaning products for my passanger side, they still dont look as good.
I think they are 2 completely different sets I have on. Does anyone know if this is true?

 

Sounds like you have 2 chrome and 2 painted rims. SLPonline may have rims to match the 2 you want to keep.

 

It sounds like you may have two highly polished wheels on one side and the other side may be chrome. The chrome would be real easy to clean whereas the polished ones would be a pain in the a$$, unless clearcoated. there's my two cents.

 

FWIW ... polished alum. wheels are clearcoated. But they are still a PITA to polish up.

I assume you bought the car used? If so, get with the person who sold it to you and find out what's up.

Without seeing a picture, I think you've got chrome and alum. But you should see a HUGE difference in them.

I will try to post a pic on thursday. I did go to pontiac and they said only 1 set of rims were on the ws6 from 97-99. I did buy the car used, but it was from a dealer in july. the only 2 things i can think of is, either 1. they are different rims. or 2. my passanger side that is dull had some sort of chemical or substance put on it.
My friend told me of a place i can go to get my dull ones dipped in chrome, not sure how long that would hold up. or i gotta call pontiac tommorow to find out how much it cost to ship 2 out to get cleaned.
