Whatcha Think?

I was just wondering how much the following parts would help out my car and if anyone else has had good or bad luck with them!

Comp Cam - all i know is it is a 272 advertised duration
3.73 Gears
Hooker Long Tube Headers
SLP Off Road Y Pipe (No Cats)
3" Pipe to either a Single Chamber or Dual Dynamax Bullets
Also im takin it to Street & Performance to have them reprogram it, i was just wondering how much this would all help!

Also i forgot to mention that im gettin all of the parts and installed for about $1200 bucks!

that would help out quite a bit, and installed that seems like a really inexpensive price to me.

if you can get all that and installed for that price go for it you'll be between 350 and 380 rwhp depending on the tune and the cam.

Somebody may be blowing smoke at you, to see if you're buying.

First ... I've never heard of a 272 duration on an LS1.

Gears ... OK

Hooker LTs and SLP ORP ... not compatable. It's either an SLP ORP designed for the SLP LTs - I'm not sure it will fit the Hookers, not without extensive rework. Or it's the SLP ORP designed for the stock mainfolds - won't fit the Hookers in any way, shape or form.

3" to dual bullets ... are you're talking a true dual exhaust, if so you won't need a y-pipe. If you're talking a 3" exhaust from the Y-pipe back, then you can get by with only one bullet.

Last, for any reputable shop, you're looking at close to $1000 in labor, minimum. Plus a couple of hundred dollars in gaskets and fluids.

So even if the parts are all good and work together .. $1200 for everything, parts and labor, is too unrealistic ... Unless the parts are stolen ... Or it's somebody selling the parts and has told you that they'll do the install for you also ... if that's the case, it had better be some one you really trust, to let them touch your car. Because they appear to be a little to desparate, they can sell all those part for at least $1200, without having to screw with the labor.

But, yeah if you can get them installed and it all works together 350 to 380 rwhp is in the ball park.

the cam and gears are coming out of my friends car, he through a rod and ordered a stroker kit for his, so thats why hes sellin the cam and gears so cheap, he said 300 for cam and gears and put in, hes been like my best friend for about 3 years and he put my friends lt1 back in his car, also i changed my mind on my exhaust im running true dual 3" pipe with no cats, a guy around here said he can make true duals with a 5.0 H pipe and dump bullets off the h pipe, but heres a new list

Cam and Install $200, 3.73 Gears and Install $100(these are goin in this saturday), Hooker Long Tubes $400, Exhaust mentioned above with H pipe $250, and for Street & Performance to reprogram everything on it they want like $250 so thats everything and how much and the guy is a trustworthy friend, thats why its so cheap on labor and the cam and gears
