V6 Supercharge or V8 Engine Swap?

Ok I have a V6 Engine in my 2k1 Camaro. I was wondering if it would be better to throw a V6 Supercharged engine in or to do a V8 Swap... I mean which would be better? Because with a V8 Swap I would be switchin the computer, exhaust, transmission... but with a V6 Supercharged I dunno if I would have to switch all the out or not... any suggestions?

You'd have to run a relatively low boost or else risk puking internals all over the highway... On that token, running low boost would put you right at about the v8 power output.

Putting a supercharger in the 3.8L v-6 will put up a good fight against the v-8. So without the hassle of replacing this and that.

Yeah what I meant is when my stock V6 engine goes, is it better (hassle wise) to put a Supercharged 6 in or go V8

a V6 is WAY less cool. although, a turbo 4.3L with a 6-speed would be cool. those K and S motors suck IMO. no offense! later!

Do some more reading, and then buy a new car instead of modding this one. If you do the reading I advised earlier, you will agree.

I had the same question, so I went to GM and asked them about their vehicles that come supercharged. They told me that they put in a stronger lower end to take the abuse and minor head work. So, if you wanted to supercharge youd be smart taking the time to rebuild your motor. Or do what Im doing...Save for the LS1. Or if youre rich find an LS7 and mod the **** out of it!!!

There was one guy that turboed his stock 3800 and produced 350 rwhp untuned. Don't remember how much boost though.

Re: V6 Supercharge or V8 Engine Swap?

supercharging the v6.. or swapping to a v8?

If I had to choose.. i'd supercharge the v6 just so I could say i run with the v8s with a V6.. not to mention its a lot less time consuming and less money then a v8 swap..

But why not just find a used Z28 for like 5000$ ? or 10000$ max..

Supercharger= 4500$, install, after everything, 5500? Buy a new z28 with that money!

Go with number 1. Drive till the stock motor goes. By the way, I've heard those v-6 engines in the Camaro are realible engines, as is the LS1.
