Tuning after header install
Dont have to have a tune-the running rich wont be serious enough to merit spending $500 on LS1 edit plus paying someone to tune it unless you go for a cam soon...but I recommend Jeff Creech of Carolina Auto Masters in Durham for tuning/dynoing-he's great!!
I saw that you're in morrisville- check our local (Raleigh/Cary/Durhm) site www.horsepowerjunkies.com - we get together ALOT for dinner, car shows, and just to hang out.

Thanks. I have actually already talked to Jeff at CAM about some tuning. I do plan on getting a cam and some gears so I will eventually need some tuning anyways. Thanks for the local info/link.
I bought a MAFT used from the classifieds for $100 and tuned the a/f ratio on the dyno with my car. When I dyno'd after adding headers, the first pull was 330rwhp and it was rich, ended up leaning it out 6% with the MAFT and made 343rwhp, so the MAFT tuning picked my car up 13rwhp. I still use the MAFT only for my car and I'm making the numbers below with heads and a "baby" cam.
I put on MAC's with a cat-less Y-pipe and I am running waaaay too rich. When I have the cut-out open I can see the gas needle dropping. With it closed I went from 28mpg(before headers) on road trips to 22mpg(after headers).I sold my MAFT before I got a chance to hardly use it.Looks like I may have to get another one now!
