OMFG, do Camaro's have some kind of disease that prevents the bolts from coming out as easily as they should?

Are you not using a socket set? Should be a piece of cake (13mm or 15mm, I think). I wouldn't use a set of vice grips... only as an emergancy last resort. They'll strip the head completely.

It's a 15mm bolt, and as long as you didn't f### the head of it already with vice-grips, just use a wrench (box end, not open end) and apply lots of force................you can try hooking another box wrench around the open end of the 15mm wrench to use as extra leverage, but as long as you're trying to turn it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, you should be able to get it out.

BTW: once you do get it out, don't put it in so tight next time.

mine came off easy but if it's too tight i'd go to a mechanic i could trust...no sense risking damaging that section

good luck

15mm Socket always takes mine right off.

15mm box wrench will do it and you can slip a small pipe "cheater bar" over the end for some extra force.

Of course, this assumes that the head is still intact. If the bolt head is screwed, so are you. At that point, you'll have to get creative.

I took the pole from the floor jack and put the ratchet handle inside of it to get more leverage. Next time like the other people said the bolt only has to be snug not tight.

I had trouble with mine also. It was in so tight I started to strip the head with a 12 point socket and box end. I went to Sears and got a 6 point impact socket and it came right out.
