Think this is a scam?

This guy on Ebay is selling a complete 02 SS Drive train for $2300 with free shipping but the bidding is already up to $3150.

I asked him for some pictures of the item and he sent me three pics that had been hosted on Ebay, but he had no pics posted on his auction. I also asked for the VIN and he sent me a partial picture of the title in it was an odo reading of 9373 but the auction says the engine has 6273 miles.

Here is a link;
Ebay auction

I know that saying about it being to good, what to you all think?
Anyone local that might be willing to take a look and make a few bucks if this deal goes through?

Thanks to all,
Jose

That is quite fishy. He has a good feedback rating but all his auctions seem to be on $2 items. I think 2300 for a 2002 LS1 is too good to be true. Plus, in his auction he wrote shipping varies between $250-$300, yet he told you free shipping. ANd to make it even more fishy why the hell would he sell it for $2300 when the bid is over 3k. If you do buy it do the pay pal and buy there return for any reason option. That way if you get the engine and its not as described or anything is wrong with it you can get your money back.

EDIT: Did you get the full VIN #? You should post it and have some one run a carfax on it.

not fishy makes perfect sense. He sells cheap stuff and now runs across something like this and he throws out a ( to him ) reasonable offer. Id jump on it. pay with paypal and get paypals insurance buyers safety plan ( for that amount about $40.00 ) but if you never receive it you get your money back
