strange shift light/tach reading

i know our tachs are slow and not very accurate.

and i also know the stock rev limiter is 6200rpm.

but i have been messing with my shift light settings, and it seems that i have to have the dial (proform light) set at about 5900 in order for it to flash just before...and i mean just the rev limiter kicks in.

i am pretty much ignoring my tach because it seems to be about 300rpms off..

i guess as long as the light is going before the limiter i should jsut ignore what the tach and the dial read right?

anybody have similar problems?
