Stock heads with what cam and headers?

I will finally get back to doing mods to my car. Ran into a few problems like my alternator, water pump, power steering, clutch and tranny. New clutch gets ordered in about two weeks and tranny shipped out to rebuild. After I get tranny back and new clutch in I'm going for the headers and cam. Looking for something with nice power under the curve. I like to autox, hit the 1/4 mile once in a while and drive as a daily driver. I will mostly likely keep my N20 wet kit. I'm shooting 75. What set ups do you stock heads guys have and the numbers with them? I've done some research but would like to collectively see about 7 to 8 different setups so I can start figuring out what I'm going to order. Post up the cam and the valvetrain you've upgraded to. Post the numbers and drivabilty. I want something you can easily hear that is not stock, but I don't want a wild cam that is going to get me upset when in traffic.

any of the comp cams grinds in the 220-224 range should give you what you are looking for, or possibly the LS1 Hotcam kit.

all those should net you around 375hp to the wheels with tuning on stock heads.

Stock heads with MTI T1 cam (221/221 duration,558/558 lift and 112 lsa), Comp 918 springs, stock retainers, Pacesetter coated longtubes. No LS6 intake. Stock pump and injectors

Tuned rich for dry nitrous shot. 364 rwhp, 350 rwtq on motor. 450 rwhp, 488 rwtq on 125 shot.

Driveability is great with this mild cam. Sounds mean but drives smooth. Cruise in 6th gear with no problems all the time.

Re: Stock heads with what cam and headers?

after we install the VHP heads next month or two, i'll most likely put the 047 in the wife's car. or the 055. still deciding. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm

there are sound bytes for some of the cams also.

Re: Stock heads with what cam and headers?

I have a comp 224/228 581/589 lift on a 112LSA, it made with the bolt ons listed below 382/361. before the cam install I netted 331/346 with everthing listed below but no cam. Now I drive it everyday and If I could do it over I would go with a 114LSa or 116 for everyday driving. Why my friend had a huge cam on a 116LSA and didn't even have it tuned and could drive around better then me!!

Re: Stock heads with what cam and headers?

I have FLP headers and a mild street cam. Before cam it dynoed at 338/rwhp. Put a 224/228/114 0.578 lift cam in it and now dynoed at 384/rwhp and 381/rwtq. Great torq curve. Reaches 381 at 3200 rpm thru 5000 rpm. HP peakes at 6000 rpm. Drives really good.
