Squeaky noise
Squeaky noise
So tonight im driving and hear a noise coming from under the hood that is pretty loud and is sqeaking. I look under the hood and it is coming from the pully/belt area and I can only think that maybe the pully is loose? It also might be something leaking, its hard to tell at night time with no flashlight. Anyone else know what this might be?
does it change pitch with engine speed or actual road speed???
its more than likely nothing but a squeaky belt/pulley....you could try taking the serpentine and AC belts off and spinning the pulleys individually to see if u can find the noise. good luck...
personally i had an idler/tensioner pulley go bad on BOTH my belts....i have other friends with f-bods who have gotten it too. investigate closer and see what u can find...

like i said, try to figure out which pulley it is first, then you can try hitting it with some WD-40 or something into the bearing. if it stops the squeak temporarily then you know beyond a shadow of a doubt its THAT pulley. then all you gotta do is buy a replacement. i'm betting it's probably one of the tensioner pulleys (there are 4 on our cars between the two belts). they are easy to change, just unbolt the old and slip on the new one, no big deal.
