Sparkplugs
what spark plugs should i use? i dont want to buy gm ones. would autolite spark plugs or ac delco plugs be alright?
also, the owners manual gives a specific plug number and a gap number, should i use the owners manuals gap or the recomended one for the plug... |
Re: Sparkplugs
if your car is naturally aspirated pretty much the best one is the ngk tr5. if your using a blower and nos go with the ngk tr6. get them from thunder racing. and if i can remember they come pre gapped already. hope this helps.

The TR6s come gapped at .035(forced induction guys) but I always double check them before I install them in the car. |
Re: Sparkplugs
can i get nkgs at a local parts place?

Re: Sparkplugs
Yep NGK tr55 come gapped at .050" and that's where I leave them.

Re: Sparkplugs
Yeah use the ngk tr-55's like everyone else said and FYI gm uses ac delco plugs.

Re: Sparkplugs
i put in the plugs today. they are Denso's from the factory. however now they are replaced by an ACDelco part in GMs inventory now. they are iridium (sp?) not platnum. not ludicrisly expensive but still pretty expensive at around 60 bucks for 8.
