so... headers?

whats the difference/advantage/disadvantage with 1 3/4 as opposed to 1 7/8 long tube headers and which do y'all recommend?

Re: so... headers?

If you have a large motor over 400 cu then go with the 1 7/8 other wise just use the smaller headers. The larger headers will cost you low end power on a smaller motor.

Re: so... headers?

will headers and a catted y make my car louder than it is now?

Re: so... headers?

That depends on the rest of your exhaust. If you still have the stock exhaust system after your headers it won't help at all.

I have an '02 Z-28 LS1 with Kooks 1-3/4 long tube headers,catted,02 sensors, with a Magnaflow muffler the rest of the exhaust is stock. The car IS louder than before the headers. 346 rwhp 356 rwt :)

i did say it was stock with the exception of my cutout which is electric and open 98% of the time will it make that louder is what im asking.

Re: so... headers?

Yes it will be louder with the cut out open. The headers will flow more air out, so the cut out will make it even louder, as in get a ticket louder.
