SLP Y-pipe Question

I have an SLP loudmouth exhaust and I just installed an SLP Y-pipe to go with it but now that little brace that goes under the Y-pipe and connects to the body of the car vibrates on the ypipe and sounds like ****. Anyone know how to fix this or should i just grind the damn thing down?

Youre probably talking about the cheap factory tunnel brace. It isn't very strong to begin with, so I would just take a hammer to it and bend it out of the way a little.

When I had my custom Y-pipe made, it actually interfered with my collector, so my exhaust shop had to take it off, flip it upside down and flip it. It hasn't given me any problems since.

I would definitely try bending it before I would cut it though.

I got the SLP y-pipe too. I had to take a hammer to the factory tunnel brace for it to fit. It's best if you have a good solid surface to pound it out so it doesn't look like $h!t when you're done. After I got it the way I wanted it, I got a can of black rustoleum spray paint and made it look like new. I let it dry, bolted it back up and now it looks like new. :D

Thanx guys.. I just took a metal shaping hammer to it and whacked the **** out of it and it fits great now...

i just put flat washers in between the brace and car floor.about 4 i.e. i used them as spacers.when i lowered my car and got off road pipes mine would hit.however mine wasn't hitting much.

What did you pay for the pipe to get made, adn did you have to get the Y connector for it?
