SLP Performance

I was wondering, don't make fun of me now cuz I am a rookie when it comes to my SS... The sticker on my '99 SS says it has SLP performance exhaust installed on it.. does that increase the horses at all over the stock SS.. and if so, how much? Or is there a site/ forum that shows all that info and I am just in the wrong place.. thanks for the help

A couple. It's a decent cat back but not any better or worse than any other aftermarket cat back. Just means you can skip that mod

cool, is there a place on the net that I can see the specs on that exhaust?

Also, what is the best place to buy some tips, the tips that are on it are ugly at best, nothing fancy, just want some chrome showing to match my rims

The slp dual/dual exhaust is a solid free flowing exhaust. The only downfalls are that it's heavy, quiet, & ugly. I would replace it, but that's me.

quiet I don't mind, heavy... comes with the territory I guess, but yes it is quite ugly.. I am going to try and find some tips to make it look good. Do you know how much more the exhaust adds?

There's plenty of nice aftermarket tips. There's Borla, Mecham, B&B (VERY nice) then some more generic brands you can find sponsor's websites. Oh, or if you wanna flash some perdy $350 tips you can get Corsa

The dual/dual is one of if not the heaviest exhausts. You'll save 5-10lbs going with any of the other aftermarket set ups.

Its a good exhaust that flows well, but it sounds like crap. So quiet and tame.

The stock SLP dual dual tips sould be stainless which means you should be able to polish them up.

First, you can polish the tips to a bright shine. Secondly, I don't think it's a junk catback. I have it mated to long tubes and an offroad y-pipe and find it to be plenty loud. It's whisper quiet on a stock setup, but if you free up the rest of the exhaust, the SLP Dual/Dual catback sounds plenty nice.

well no i dont really think its junk, just a figure of speech but imo it is way to quiet for my standards, my friends car sounds good with it but way too quiet for me.
